These panels, also known as fabric-wrapped fiberglass panels or fabric-wrapped sound absorbers, are effective in reducing echo in large spaces and enhancing indoor acoustics, making it easier to hear voices and music clearly. To increase durability, especially in high-traffic areas, resin-hardened edges can be added to protect the sides and corners of the panels.
The sound absorption process works by converting sound energy into heat energy. When sound waves hit the panel, air molecules are forced through the insulating material's pores, and the resulting friction and resistance transform the sound energy into heat.
